Hey Eat24Hours:
I just had to write you all and tell you what happened to me when I was in New York at relatives the other day. I arrive at my sister and brother in laws home and my brother in law informs me that my sister is pulling a double at the hospital. Well I had been driving quite a while to get there and needless to say I was already a bit hungry.
Now you have to understand, my sister has always said that her husband would be lost without her. I didn’t really believe her until now. I saw it with my own eyes. I ask “what’s for supper man, I am starving?” My brother in law responds to me, “Well I am not sure. Angie is working and well it was last minute, and so I don’t think she had anything planned yet.” WHAT? Okay, so I am thinking.. this guy can’t cook obviously, and I know I can’t cook, and here we sit with my niece and nephew to boot, all hungry. I wait to see if he has any bright ideas – why I don’t know because it was obvious he didn’t have a clue. So I speak up and say, “well how about we order something for delivery?” You know what this noodle brain says to me? I will tell yah. He says he has no idea who delivers around there. I said “Man, its 2010! Don’t you know about Eat24Hours?” He says “What?” like he really didn’t know.. I told him no worries brother, I got this covered and whipped open my laptop, pulled up Eat24Hours, plugged in my sisters address and pulled up a list of places to order from.
I thought I had won the battle until I asked, like a fool, what he was in the mood for. When he saw everything that was available in his area it was like he went brain dead. Needless to say I left the decision up to my niece and nephew who quickly picked out their favorite pizza joint. I truly feel for my sister now and will never second guess her when she says my brother in law would be lost without her. I made sure I hooked up Eat24Hours as a favorite on their home computer incase my sis ever has to pull a double again, the kids won’t go hungry.
Thanks Eat24Hours!
Kevin.
Well, it’s a good thing that at least one of the males on the scene had a brain. I have to wonder what he did before you got there. PB&J for the kids? Marking it in the favorites should make it easy enough for even him to order in.
That’s a bit overboard for any dad. I’m surprised his wife put him in charge of the kids if he’s not even capable of cooking or calling for delivery! Get a grip……
In this day and age it’s hard to believe that anyone could be that out of touch with ordering take out food. Especially someone with dependent children. I’m glad his brother was able to move him into the 21st century during his visit.
That sounds about like my husband. He’s actually very intelligent but doesn’t have a lick of common sense. This could have been him except for 2 things. He doesn’t have a brother and I already hooked him up with Eat24Hours in case of emergency, like I have to work an unexpected shift and didn’t have time to cook. It’s nice to know my hubby’s not the only one out in left field.
