Eat24 wants to celebrate an unsung group of men and women that brave the cold, fight the traffic and battle the elements so you don’t have to. They bring you food, piping hot and ready to be eaten, all at the click of a button. After years of fighting the good fight against hunger, these unsung heroes are getting the recognition they finally deserve.
In observance of National Delivery Guy (Or Girl) Appreciation Weekend, Eat24 – the nation’s largest online delivery and take-out service – asked their fans to show those hard working drivers some much needed love.
The made-up holiday was created by Eat24 to reward their loyal customers and salute the delivery driver. Fans simply had to upload a picture of themselves high-fiving their delivery driver and post it on Eat24’s Facebook or Twitter page. As a reward, the customer got a $20 coupon for their next order, and the delivery driver was immortalized as the heroes that they are.
The response was well over expectations. At the end of the three-day promotion over 200 pictures were uploaded, hundreds of new Twitter followers and Facebook fans were added, and over 100,000 unique visitors were reached. Not bad for a start-up company who has relied on 0% Venture Capitalist funding to get their footing.
