Top 10 Portable Foods

If you’re like us, and by us we mean an incredibly good-looking bacon lover, then you’re always on the go. This on-demand lifestyle means everything we do must be portable. With smart phones, tablets, and other portable devices, you’re never more than seconds away from being able to watch the latest episode of “Extreme Couponing”, finding out the lyrics to Ja Rule’s “Holla Holla” or even order food online in an instant. With how portable our society has become, our food needs should be able to come with us. We’re not saying all food should come in pill form (chewing is just too much fun), but there is something to say for delicious food on the go.

We made this handy dandy list of ten foods that are easy (and fun!) to eat and available to order with the Eat24 app in hand, while you’re out on the train, the dance floor, or dancing in the train store.

Churro:

Perfect for all that one-handed skee-ball you play. If you do have an extra hand, or a really good buddy, grab some chocolate or strawberry dip and enjoy some one armed dipping adventures together.

Take all the wonder of eating meat without the cutting or the effort. Plus you’re eating your veggies, just like Momma always told you. We’re not exactly sure what ‘shish’ means but we’re pretty sure it translates to ‘delicious meat stick’.

Bahn Mi:

This Vietnamese sandwich is quickly becoming a go to for to go food, especially with food trucks, street vendors and other on the go eateries. Hidden in a delicious baguette lies meat (usually pork of some type) cucumber, cilantro and pickled carrots. For an extra kick to your one handed enjoyment, ask for extra chili sauce.

Taquito:

Remember when you were a kid and your Mom would pack you a fruity and wonderful rollup snack? Well it’s kinda the same thing, except with delicious taco meat. Pro Tip: Ask for sour cream and guacamole inside your taquito for delicious hands free dipping.

Corn Dogs:

A carnival or mall court staple, corn dogs have become a bit gourmet recently with variations that include schnitzel, kielbasa and even dessert corn dogs. Seeing how amazeballs corn dogs are, we wonder why other foods aren’t served deep friend and on a stick (We’re looking at you tacos).

Egg Rolls:

Sure they’re usually just an appetizer, but why not make a meal out of all the wonderful varieties (Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese). We’re still not sure whatever happened to the egg in egg roll, but being as delicious as it is we don’t really care.

Calzone:

It’s portable pizza. What more do you need to know?

Wraps:

Take everything that you love about a sandwich but remove that crumby bread and replace it with flavor infused tortillas. Good to know that people looking to cut carbs can still eat like a portable boss wizard.

Gyro:

The real key to making this a portable food is trying to limit yourself to three awesome ingredients instead of just a bit of everything. We love a stuffed gyro, but we like our pants (when we happen to be wearing them) to be Tzatziki free.

Sliders:

Imagine the tastiest burger you’ve ever had to double fist, zapped by a shrink ray for insane portableness and nomability. Simple is amazing, but there is something to be said for a mini burger that tastes like a $10 burger.

Burritos:

The Mission style burrito is almost so big it’s not portable, but here’s a tip. Get it wrapped in foil to eliminate (some of) the mess. Then think of each bite like unwrapping the tastiest Christmas present ever.
