They say companies should never talk about religion, politics or sports, but to that third thing we say: screw it. Eat24 was born and raised in SF, so we had to show some love to our home team, the San Francisco Giants. We offered a special coupon for every game to feed hungry fans. And we’re not saying the Giants won the World Series because of Eat24’s food love… but then again, they didn’t lose.
Here are some highlights from the World Series and how Eat24.com did our part to help the fans and the World Champion San Francisco Giants.
Game 1: RallyZito
- Eat24 gave away 80 free unicorns as Barry Zito took the mound and struck out 5 batters. Meanwhile, fans consumed over 16,456 BurZitos.
- The Panda, Pablo Sandoval smacked three home runs. People in San Francisco celebrated by eating 206 Club SandovalWiches
Game 2: MADBUM
- Our Game 2 coupon code was not named for an angry street person. That’s pitcher Madison ‘MadBum’ Bumgarner who struck out 8 batters while we made food happen for hungry baseball from the comfort of their own homes in over 850 cities (Detroit too! We really do love everybody).
- Angel Pagan stole a base which meant everyone in America got to steal a Doritos Locos Taco on Tuesday, October 30th . But we say: live every day like it’s Taco Tuesday. You can steal a taco from us anytime with coupon code “freetaco”. Really. Go ahead. Order one now.
Game 3: Rally Enchiladas
- Pitcher Ryan Vogelsong’s eats chicken enchiladas the night before every start. We’re no stranger to baseball superstition, so Eat24.com gave out #RallyEnchiladas all day. It worked, and Vogey got the win. Over 2,754 enchiladas were eaten.
- Orders tripled for triple bacon cheesebugers, and Gregor Blanco tripled to kick off the second inning. Coincidence?!
Game 4: The Horse
- In honor of pitcher Matt Cain “The Horse” we gave baseball fans a coupon for whatever #RallyFood their stomachs desired. And nothing says party time like wings. Hot Wings orders quadrupled in the city as San Francisco celebrated their World Series victory.
Four games, four wins. We’ll always remember 2012 as the year we learned that the secret to athletic excellence is… food.
