What is it?
Coffee beans defecated from the Asian Palm Civet

Why is it expensive?
The coffee beans are eaten and then pass through the civet’s digestive track. The civets don’t actually digest the beans, which passes through them in solid form. Why? A regular cup of coffee contains mix of ripe and unripe beans, the civet is a forager that eats the outer layers of only the ripest beans, meaning civets only defecate the most ripe and delicious coffee beans. Add also the fact that only 500 pounds are made worldwide. Drinkers claim that it has a thick syrupy taste and the aroma is very strong (no wonder).

  1. The only one here I see as worthwhile is the Saffron.

    Everything else is just different. I might be able to accept the Black Watermelons
    since I’ve never had one. The rest of the things I have had and was not impressed.

    Saffron is used as an enhancement for other dishes and provides it’s own flavor also.
